The purpose of this research is to find a difference safety number value generated from the design of steel Pratt truss double angle as a hinge joint with the assumption and the assumption of the join as rigid in length 15 m, 18 m and 21 m using SAP 2000 student version.

During these assumptions used in designing the structure of steel truss is double angle joint as the hinge joint assumptions. frames are connected at the hinge joint can rotate without affecting the other frame. The force considered is axial force. There is no restraint on the joints and joint moment values is ''zero''.

The fact showed that the steel truss frames that connect at the join are generally connected using a weld / bolt so that experienced restraint / rigid condition. frames are in rigid condition can not move rotate without affecting the other frame. In addition to axial force, internal forces considered is the bending moment.

The results of this research is a difference in the value of safety numbers bottom frames, top frames, vertical frames and diagonal frames are obtained through structural analysis and verification of SNI-03-1729-2002 about Planning Procedures for Steel Structures for Buildings on two assumptions joint. Difference of bottom frames safety number value is the overall span (-0,11), (-0,11) and (-0,13). top frames (0,04), (0,06) and (0,07). Vertical frames (0,10), (0,25) and (0,45). Diagonal frames (-0,03) (-0,04) and (-0,04). The difference that produces a negative number indicates the assumption of joint safety number value as larger than the assumption of rigid as a hinge joint. The excess value of the safety numbers that generate a positive number indicates the assumption of joint safety number value as a rigid is smaller than assumed as a hinge joint. In this research the difference in value resulting in negative and positive numbers have a balanced number.

Based on research results, the conclusions of this research is the calculation of structural steel Pratt truss double angle can be done using the assumption join as hinge joint or joint assumption as rigid.
